Asmat Head #4

All the items that are listed here are vintage from the 1980s so they are not in absolute MINT condition. They are second-hand and come with wear commensurate with age. Please refer to the photos for detailed item descriptions.

This is a hardwood (generally called ironwood)ancestor head from the late 1980s (purchased in 1989 in Agats, Papua, Indonesia). It's one of my favorite carvings. The length of the head is about 26 centimeters (10.25 inches). The wood color is brown. There are a number of aging cracks: the largest is in the back, but all are stable. This is a unique piece; it generates lots of conversation if it's sitting out on the coffee table.

Price USD 100 for overseas buyers, or 1,400,000 Indonesian Rupiah for people purchasing a carving from within Indonesia. Reasonable offers will be considered.
