Big Man #6

All the items that are listed here are vintage from the 1980s so they are not in absolute MINT condition. They are second-hand and come with wear commensurate with age. Please refer to the photos for detailed item descriptions.

This is a hardwood carving from the mid to late 1980s (purchased in 1990 in Timika, Papua, Indonesia). It is 89 centimeters (35 inches) in length. This is a very heavy carving because of the height and width. He is, as his name implies, a big man.

This big fella is holding a paddle. He has some scarification markings on the body that still have the original white pigmentation. There are two cracks along the hands holding the paddle, see the photo. These can easily be glued, but they are not in danger of breaking off. There is also a slight crack on the upper chest; again see the photo.
