Asmat Neckrest #15

All the items that are listed here are vintage from the 1980s so they are not in absolute MINT condition. They are second-hand and come with wear commensurate with age. Please refer to the photos for detailed item descriptions.

This is a hardwood (generally called ironwood) neckrest from the late 1980s (purchased in 1989 in Agats, Papua, Indonesia).

It is 65 centimeters (25.5 inches) in length. The wood color is a light brown. These neckrests were for males only. There are ancestor heads at both ends of the neckrest, and the designs on the body of the neckrest appear to be stylized humans. This figure is in excellent shape.
